The "Aha!" Moment π‘
It all started with a personal project and a very frustrated developer (that's me). I needed a few short URLs and some QR codes to get my project off the ground. I went to the "industry leaders," and honestly? I was shocked.
"Sure, you can have one link for free. But a QR code? That'll be $15 a month. Want a second link? Give us your credit card."
As a developer, I knew I could do more for less. I didn't want a corporate monolith; I wanted a tool that actually helps people build things without a paywall hitting them in the face every five seconds. So, I opened my IDE and started coding what would become Tico URL.
Tico URL vs. The "Big Guys" π₯
| Feature | The Competition | Tico URL |
|---|---|---|
| Free URLs | Usually 1-5 (Strict) | Developer-First & Generous |
| QR Codes | Premium / Watermarked | Included (It's 2026!) |
| Price | A monthly car payment | Built for Humans |
| Vibe | Corporate & Grey | Brazilian Warmth π§π· |
What does "Tico" mean?
In Brazilian Portuguese, when something is tiny, efficient, or just the right size, we call it "tiquinho" or "tico."
It perfectly describes what we do: taking those massive, ugly URLs and turning them into something small, cute, and powerful. Weβre here to help you share your projects and grow your business without the overhead.
